Dormant Account Review
Identify accounts with no sign-in or activity in a configurable window, generate a dormancy report, and route owner review tasks — without modifying any accounts automatically.
Requires a Nuxari account. Installs as Draft — no changes until you enable it.
Back to templatesWhat this template does
This automation job examines sign-in and activity data across connected identity systems and identifies accounts with no qualifying activity in a configurable window. It produces a dormancy report ranked by inactivity duration and routes an owner review task for each dormant account. No account is modified — the job surfaces dormancy and leaves the disable decision to a human reviewer.
When to use it
Use this template when you want consistent visibility into dormant accounts without automatically disabling them. It pairs naturally with the Disable Inactive User remediation, which handles the approval-gated action once dormancy is confirmed.
How it works
Activity collection
Nuxari collects sign-in and activity data for each account across connected identity systems.
Dormancy detection
Accounts with no qualifying activity in the configured window are identified and ranked by inactivity duration.
Report generation
A dormancy report is produced with last-activity timestamps, account owner details, and dormancy ranking.
Owner review routing
An owner review task is created for each dormant account so a human can decide whether to disable, retain, or attest.
What gets created in your tenant
Dormant Account Scanner
A job that detects dormant accounts based on a configurable inactivity window.
Dormant Account Findings
A findings queue populated by accounts with no recent activity.
Dormant Account Owner Review
Owner review tasks routed for each dormant account.
What evidence it produces
- Dormant account inventory with last-activity timestamps
- Dormancy report ranked by inactivity duration
- Owner review tasks with response log
- Account state snapshot at review time
Safety and approval model
Templates install as Draft / Disabled by default. No actions run until you explicitly enable the template after reviewing the configuration.
This template installs in Draft state and is read-only — it detects dormancy and generates review tasks but never modifies any account. No scans run until you connect the required connectors and explicitly enable the job. Disabling a dormant account is handled by the separate, approval-gated Disable Inactive User remediation.
Customization options
- Inactivity threshold (30, 60, 90, or 180 days)
- Account types in scope (regular, service, shared)
- Owner resolution (manager, sponsor, or manual mapping)
- Review task deadline and reminders
- Connector scope for activity collection
- Scan frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
