Access Requests

Learn how to submit an access request in Nuxari, track its status, and understand what happens after approval.

Last updated: June 2026

Who this is for

Requesters submitting access to systems or resources, and approvers reviewing incoming access requests.

Before you start

You need at minimum the Requester role to submit an access request. If you are unsure of your role, ask your workspace admin. SeeWorkspaces and Roles for details.

What an access request is

An access request is a formal record of a user asking to be granted, modified, or have access reviewed for a specific system, application, group, or role. Every access request in Nuxari routes through at least one approval step before any provisioning action executes. This creates an auditable record of who requested what, who authorized it, and when it was carried out.

How to submit a new access request

  1. 1In Nuxari, go to Governance > Access Requests.
  2. 2Click New Request.
  3. 3Select the type of access you need, system access, group membership, role assignment, or license.
  4. 4Choose the target system or application from the connected environment list.
  5. 5Specify the requested access level and provide a business justification.
  6. 6Select a duration if your organization uses time-limited access grants.
  7. 7Submit the request. An approver will be notified automatically.

How to track your request

  1. 1Go to Governance > Access Requests and select My Requests.
  2. 2Each request shows its current status: Submitted, Pending Approval, Approved, Rejected, or Completed.
  3. 3Click a request to see the full detail including the assigned approver and any reviewer comments.
  4. 4You will receive a notification when the approver acts on your request.
No access is provisioned until an authorized approver explicitly approves the request. Submitting a request does not grant access.

What happens after approval

Once an approver authorizes the request:

  • ·Nuxari routes the provisioning action to the appropriate connected system.
  • ·The user receives access as specified in the request.
  • ·An audit event is generated capturing the request, the approval record, and the execution result.
  • ·Evidence of the before and after access state is preserved for audit purposes.
  • ·If the request was time-limited, Nuxari schedules a review or revocation at the expiry date.

What happens if a request is rejected

If an approver rejects a request, you will receive a notification with the reason if one was provided. The rejection is recorded as an audit event. No access is provisioned. You may submit a revised request if the business need still applies and the original request can be clarified.
